June 2018: Joseph lives deep in the hillsides of rural, southern Haiti. When our charitable partners at CMMB first met Joseph, he greeted them with a big smile. He and a team member had a lot of fun playing together, but his joyfulness masked a life of many challenges, including malnutrition.
Joseph has four siblings and his mother constantly struggles to provide enough food for everyone. Their home is in poor condition and although Joseph was giggly, he doesn't have enough food to eat. To make matters worse, the recent weather in Haiti has made like even harder. It rarely rains making it difficult to grow crops, and hurricanes occur more frequently than they did in the past.
"I have my own garden, but the growing season was poor", said Rosemene, Joseph's mother. "I did not have enough to feed my family."
Because of these poor conditions and a lack of food and nutrition, Joseph's hair is turning red because he is malnourished. His mother needs help providing Joseph and his siblings with enough food. Malnutrition at Joseph's age can have serious, irreversible consequences.
September 2019: Since meeting Joseph, he has been receiving Previnex Super Vites on a daily basis through our Get Health, Give Health® Program, where for every order placed, we donate a bottle of vitamins to a malnourished child. Since receiving Super Vites, as well as food and clean water through the Angel Investor Program at CMMB, Joseph's health has improved considerably.
